FORMAL FRAGMENTS

2015

Formal Fragments is a series investigating residual artifacts found in a former shipyard, turned ruin, and their ability to apply techniques of reuse for spatial and structural potential. Selecting residual steel elements for study, each object encapsulates the qualities of time found in the formal ruins through rust and decay, while simultaneously providing the structural and durable attributes of steel as a building material.
